Dylan Coulter’s Rubber Tire captures a soft spoken Long Island personal trainer in the gritty urbanisim of the East Village’s sordid Tompkins Park. Cast for an editorial shoot on the merits of training with, you guessed it, rubber tires, Coulter examines his subject’s imposing athleticism and the dedication it represents. Coulter tried his hand at tire training on the set- he gently laughs at the recollection of being humbled at that fall 2011 shoot. I have a lot of respect for the discipline it takes to be an athlete. Incredible strength and endurance.
