DIRECTOR, WRITER (NEW YORK)
Niclas Gillis is a Swedish-born, Los Angeles-based writer and director. Growing up in Sweden, Gillis directed web commercials for various Swedish companies and worked as a trailer producer for European television in both Sweden and the UK. Relocating to New York in 2009, Gillis continued to work as a short-format filmmaker in both artistic and commercial endeavors, and as an actor in both Swedish and American feature films. He is represented as an actor by Untitled Entertainment in Los Angeles, and as a filmmaker by German creative agency Gang of Berlin. He is also a reader for Universal Pictures International, and a contributing writer for The Last Magazine. Gillis’ fashion film for menswear brand Native Son was featured in New York Magazine, and his experimental short film “The Cave” won the People’s Choice Award at the Nameless Festival in New York.
