Always itching for action and adventure, Imagista’s Staff Fashion Writer Jessica Young, left the serene beach town of San Diego, California for New York City insanity. Calling the West Village home for the past three years, Jessica is constantly energized by the individuality, originality and hustling spirit characteristic of NYC’s creative community. Although she is equipped with a double degree in Business Marketing and Sociology from San Diego State University as well as a Fashion Business & Technology Certificate from Fashion Careers College, Jessica found herself in the writing realm – a fortunate happenstance.
Inspired by the pioneering opportunity inherent in the digital disruption of the fashion and media industries, Jessica involves her career in both the commerce and content sides of this evolving space. Her experience as a fashion copywriter heading Macys.com’s Impulse contemporary division combines her marketing acumen with creative ingenuity to craft fashion-forward, Millenial-focused editorial and promotional campaigns. However, with her love of all things fashion and desire for creative freedom, Jessica also fashion edits Papercut Magazine, a publication that reports on the emerging global creative community.
A true progressive at heart (and never shy of controversy), Jessica is dedicated to communicating new ideas, artistic authenticity, creative innovation and concepts that push the boundaries of today’s society. As we’re in an era of transition, she believes it’s especially important to take agency in shaping the future.
When Jessica is not exploring NYC in all of its cultural and culinary curiosities, she can be found soaking up the sun on Christopher Street pier.
