DIRECTOR, PHOTOGRAPHER (NEW YORK, VIENNA)
Anja Hitzenberger is a photographer, filmmaker and video artist whose work focuses on the body and its relationship to architecture and space. She travels extensively across the globe and her images often feature people from around the world.
Her work has been shown in solo and group shows, at film festivals, and on theater stages throughout Europe, the United States, South America and Asia, as well as published internationally in magazines, books and blogs.She has received numerous grants, including a Swing Space grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, and Le Journal de la Photography awarded Anja’s series “Chinese Fast Food” Portfolio of the Year 2012. She has completed residencies in Rome, Paris, Warsaw and Beijing, and she is on the faculty at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, where she teaches personal vision classes. Originally from Salzburg, Austria, she divides her time between New York and Vienna, Austria.
