Imagista: Where did you grow up?
Max Ehrich: I grew up in Marlboro, NJ.
Imagista: How did you get into acting?
Max Ehrich: Since a very young age, I was always drawn to playing “make believe” and being immersed in my imagination. I was constantly reenacting my favorite films and putting together performances for any friends or family who would watch.

Imagista: If you weren’t acting, what do you think you would be doing?
Max Ehrich: I’m equally passionate about creating music and I dedicate a significant amount of my spare time to this. There is something very powerful about being able to creatively express myself through lyrics, and something very beautiful about others being able to relate to one another through songs.
Imagista: You have been in this industry for quite some time, has a job ever intimidated you?
Max Ehrich: I think the first day on any job feels like the first day of school. There’s always that sense of giddiness and not knowing what kind of set you’ll show up to, but I’ve been truly blessed to work in some of the warmest and most welcoming environments.

Imagista: You are in the Netflix movie called “Walk. Ride. Rodeo“, what can you tell us about that project?
Max Ehrich: This is one of my favorite projects I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of. It’s the true, powerful story of Amberley Snyder’s comeback into barrel racing after an accident left her paralyzed. I’m very proud to in a film that represents the underlying theme of the film which reminds viewers that we have the power to persist and overcome the greatest obstacles, even when faced with immense adversity.
Imagista: The film also features your original song titled Ride, how did it feel to have your song featured in the film?
Max Ehrich: It felt quite surreal. Music holds a very special place in my heart for a multitude of reasons, but this song is especially meaningful. Not only were the lyrics inspired by Amberley’s courage to overcome her near-impossible obstacles, but I had the honor of representing her story and helping her to share it. It was truly an incredible feeling to merge so many of my passions into one project.
Imagista: How long have you been performing music?
Max Ehrich: My earliest memory is performing on the piano when I was 4-years-old. I’ve always found myself seeking refuge in music from a young age and have always truly felt it is the heart of life.
Imagista: Can you tell us about the process that went into writing your newest single “Somebody Else” dropped on June 28th?
Max Ehrich: I work with an incredible team based out of Nashville— Demolition Music Publishing— and spent extensive time creating with them this past November. I had so much in my heart that I wanted to share, including personal experiences that I’ve hoped others could connect with and relate to. “Somebody Else” hits close to home for me since it illustrates a story that I experienced firsthand. At the same time, I believe that the underlying feeling is something many can connect with, despite potential situational differences. I approached the project with the hope of not only telling my own story but telling this story for many others who have been through the same waves of emotions.
Imagista: Do you have any plans to put an EP out in the near future?
Max Ehrich: I have a plethora of songs I plan to share in the near future. The exact format is undetermined for the time being, but I’m truly excited to further connect with listeners and to share more of my heart through music.
Imagista: Currently, you are playing Brett Weinbaum on the series “American Princess”, what has that experience been like for you?
Max Ehrich: It’s been absolutely great to be a part of this project. The set, in particular, has been one of the most lighthearted and fun environments to be on with an amazing group of people at the heart of it. Playing a character with a big internal arc that progresses throughout the series was particularly fulfilling.

Imagista: How do you stay level headed in this industry?
Max Ehrich: I think it’s very important to prioritize our own well-being and keep that as a prominent focus, despite what may be happening around us. This industry can be a multi-faceted lens, consisting of the most beautiful artistic expression along with the most challenging obstacles. Staying grounded within myself, and having supportive family and friends I can truly count on, keep me level-headed and at my best. When it comes down to it, I feel that these are the most important aspects of life, whether we’re a part of this industry or not.
Imagista: Do you think that social media has impacted your career at all, if so how?
Max Ehrich: It has definitely had an impact on my career in a multitude of ways. In the music realm, the song covers I frequently posted later launched the discussion in which the Netflix film producers considered incorporating my original song for the film. And, of course, I heavily value being able to connect directly with all of the amazing people who continue to support me in this journey. I love being able to share my experiences with fans, communicate inspiring messages, and support others who inspire me.

Imagista: Besides performing, what are you passionate about?
Max Ehrich: I’m very passionate about holistic healing, helping and inspiring others, and connecting with others on a deep, soulful level.
Imagista: What is something that fans may not know about you?
Max Ehrich: I am, at times, painfully shy. I truly enjoy artistically sharing and connecting with fans, but I equally enjoy (and often need) solitude to recharge and remain balanced.
Imagista: Is there any advice you have received during your career thus far from a co-star that has really stuck with you?
Max Ehrich: There can certainly be gaps of downtime between projects and filming where there is little structure and routine. I was once given the advice to have creative outlets during these in-between times, and this is something I’ve always held onto. I really value being able to continuously cultivate my creativity in a variety of ways because it encourages me to develop and grow, and it gives me a strong sense of purpose.
