Creating The Makeup Looks!
Makeup artist Christian McCulloch created the looks for this story which were all about sexy summer poolside freshness. Makeup and skincare full of vitality! A pop of bright color on the lips or an unexpected graphic eye detail, to punctuate and elevate fun casual looks! This is that delicious ‘go from poolside or beachside, to shopping or evening, or just cocktails with friends’ look!
For model Bethlehem it was all about glowing highlighted skin, complimenting her bronzed porcelain complexion, beaming with natural health already. Tinted moisturizer with a hint of coverage mixed with highlighter or illuminator across the cheekbones and eyelids for extra glow. A natural radiant beauty she did not need much makeup. Brushed up defined eyebrows. Thin black graphic eyeliner across the lash line of her eyes and extended outwards into a subtle feline flick. Dior lip gloss with plum berry stain completed the look for a juicy, vibrant, youthful, and healthy look that was still sporty and goes beautifully with her Miu Miu dress!
This summer look on Genevieve was all about dewy glowing skin that was conditioned with facial oil, sunscreen, highlighter, and just a dab of concealer where needed to camouflage redness but no visible mask of foundation. Her eyes were accented in a creamy bronze shadow Lfor definition and glow and were left to look a little smudgy. To contrast beautifully with all the sheen and glow is the very matte and long-lasting red lipstick by Lancome. This is practical and doesn’t transfer, it stays in place and looks very chic, and gives a bold pop of color. The formulation is smooth creamy and non-drying, so it is the perfect way to wear matte lips and still feel hydrated, not dry.
On Joelle we have a pale skinned brunette femme fatale, voluptuous, beautiful, womanly, and with a Latin flavor. It was definitively chic to give her some smokey eyeshadow in deep metallic gray by Marc Jacobs, a gunmetal/ pewter vibe. Then line her eyes top and bottom with smudged black kohl pencil and then finish of the rocker eye makeup with a crisp black liquid eyeliner extending out a little with a feline flick. She reminds me of many great beauties with this eye, such as Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Monica Belluccci, Catherine Zeta Jones, a touch of Sophia Loren! We wanted to take this classic ‘Dolce Vita’ look and still have it feel youthful and casual with loose hair and fun accessories. Skin again was very clean and simple with creamy matte foundation and just a hint of color on lips and cheeks. Smudges and soft, nothing heavy. Bellissima!
